A full color, high-resolution OLED display is the main control center for the Duet, providing visual feedback for multiple functions including metering, numeric value for input and output levels, input grouping, phase, muting, phantom power and Soft Limit indication. The interface utilizes an ESS Sabre32 32-bit hyperstream DAC with circuitry to eliminate time domain jitter and provide ample dynamic range and low distortion conversion. The preamps are optimized for any sound source, so no matter what's being recorded, it gets captured in detail. The dual microphone preamps feature enhanced components and seamless, click-free transitions throughout the 75 dB of gain. The microphone preamps offer high-gain amplification for capturing performances clearly, and the outputs are capable of presenting detailed and well imaged sound for mixing and mastering. The unit's portability and option of being USB bus powered allows you to create music any time. This interface is capable of making studio quality recordings of vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, and other sources.

The Duet USB Audio Interface for iPad, Mac and Windows 10 from Apogeeis a portable audio interface that builds on the success of the Duet 2 by adding compatibility with Windows 10 to Mac and iOS devices.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a nice shiny 5-year-old audio interface.20 Hz to 20 kHz +/- 0.05 dB (at 44.1 kHz)ĪC/DC Power Adapter (Included) or USB Bus-Power

Thank-you for thinking of us Windows users and letting us into your high-quality world of audio. But that’s no reason to reject a fabulous audio interface. The quality is also first class and they have a premium price tag to match. I always prefer a tabletop audio interface, and those big silver knobs and the OLED display are awesome. They are right up my street in terms of form factor and functionality. That said the Duet and Quartet, in particular, are classy audio interfaces. Surely it would be better to release something new and exciting? This does feel a bit like they are trying to shift boxes rather than opening up their awesome products to new markets and opportunities. The ONE was originally released in 2013 although the Windows compatible version will be the one with the Silver finish that they released last year. But now that they are within my grasp why am I not as excited as perhaps I should be? The Quartet was released in 2012, the Duet in 2013.

Whatever the reason Apogee are releasing Windows 10 drivers for the ONE, Duet and Quartet this November.Īs a Windows user, I have long coveted Apogee products. Or maybe they’ve got a warehouse full of USB audio interfaces they can’t shift because Apple users are all buying Thunderbolt. Maybe Microsoft sent them a Surface Book and Apogee realised they could do product shots with a decent looking PC laptop without ruining their aesthetic.
